Ajuga reptans ‘Mint Chip’
Carpet Bugle |
USDA Zone: 3-9 |
Plant number: 1.030.640
Also known as Bugleweed, this makes a superb evergreen groundcover in shady areas. It forms a low carpet of small and narrow, dark green leaves. Short spikes of deep blue flowers appear in mid to late spring. Spreads rapidly to form a thick mat. Not the best choice for extremely dry shade conditions, like under maple or evergreen trees. Will perform well in tubs or mixed containers. In warm summer regions this may need protection from hot afternoon sun. Sometimes listed as Ajuga × tenorii ‘Mint Chip’. USPP#20734: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
