Armeria maritima ‘Varretu’
Pink Thrift |
USDA Zone: 2-9 |
Plant number: 1.070.090
Thrift are native to seaside cliffs, and are durable perennials for most any sunny location. Plants form low cushions of grassy green leaves. This tight and compact selection bears pink pompon flowers for many weeks starting in late spring. Trim off the spent flowers to encourage repeat blooming. Good rock garden or edging plant, also excellent in alpine trough gardens. Easily increased by dividing in spring or early fall, if desired. This form came to us from Sweden but may originate in Estonia.
