Plant number: 1.087.140
(='Purpurkerze') Astilbe are a popular choice for shady gardens, where they perform well if given a rich, moist soil and regular watering. This very tall, late-blooming selection features narrow magenta-purple plumes, looking almost like pokers. Foliage is lacy-green and elegant. Also thrives in tubs and mixed containers. Excellent for cutting. Seed heads may be removed or left on the plant for winter interest. Fertilize in April and June. Plants should be divided every 2 to 3 years, in early spring. Will tolerate full sun in cool summer regions.
