Dianthus barbatus ‘Heart Attack’

Sweet William

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.185.220

Sweet William is an old-fashioned cottage garden plant. This compact selection is unusual because it acts as a long-lived perennial, instead of a biennial. It bears showy clusters of velvety-red fragrant flowers from late spring into summer. Excellent as a cut flower. Plants are easily divided in early autumn or spring. Remove fading flowers to encourage more buds to form. Prune plants back hard in midsummer if they become scruffy or floppy. Introduced by Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina.
