These are variegated seedlings of the Corsican Hellebore, a sturdy species that flowers in late winter and early spring with clusters of small apple-green flowers. Foliage is sturdy and evergreen, greyish-green with a mottled overlay of light green and creamy white. Performs best in regions with a mild maritime climate. Gardeners in colder climates would be wise to mulch around the base of the clump with leaves in very late fall. Plants should be trimmed only right after blooming, if at all.
