Helleborus argutifolius
Corsican Hellebore |
USDA Zone: 6-9 |
Plant number: 1.256.100
(Formerly H. corsicus) This is a sturdy species that flowers in late winter and early spring, with clusters of small apple-green flowers. Foliage is sturdy and evergreen, in a pleasing greyish-green shade. Performs best in regions with a mild maritime climate. Gardeners in colder climates would be wise to mulch around the base of the clump with leaves in very late fall. Plants should be trimmed only right after blooming, if at all. More sun tolerant than many Hellebores. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
