Helleborus × hybridus Regal Ruffles strain

Double Lenten Rose

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.256.880

The Lenten Rose is an easy spring blooming perennial for the shady woodland garden. Plants produce bushy mounds of thick, leathery evergreen leaves. Flower stalks appear in early spring, bearing showy cup-shaped blooms. This exceptional strain double and semi-double blooms in a wide range of shades, including spotted or picoteed forms. Being seed-raised, a fair degree of variation will occur between plants. Site these where they will stay for many years, since the plants resent being disturbed. Trim the old leaves to the ground in late winter before the buds emerge, to allow the flowers maximum impact. This seed strain is produced by Marietta O’Byrne of Northwest Garden Nursery in Eugene, Oregon. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
