Iris sibirica ‘Persimmon’

Siberian Iris

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.289.220

The Siberian Iris are an easy, trouble-free group, forming clumps of grassy foliage with a late spring display of butterfly-like flowers. Plants are sturdy and upright, and seldom troubled by Iris borer. Flowers have smaller, narrower petals than the bearded iris but are very elegant in appearance. This taller selection has large flowers in a beautiful deep blue shade. Excellent at the waterside, or in a moist border and for cutting. Also suitable for using in tubs and mixed containers. Siberian Iris are tolerant of wet sites, and will even grow in the shallow water at the edge of a pond or stream. Cut the dying foliage back in late fall. Easily divided in early fall, every 3 to 4 years. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
