Lavandula angustifolia ‘Coconut Ice’

English Lavender

USDA Zone: 6-9

Plant number: 1.315.510

Lavender is actually a low-growing shrub, native to the Mediterranean region. The fragrant flowers and foliage make it a favourite of herb gardens and in the perennial border. This selection produces dense, silvery-green foliage with a spreading, upright habit. Flowers emerge pink but turn white as the plant matures. Beautiful effect when there are pink and white flowers on the same plant. Fragrant. Excellent in mixed containers and tubs, but in colder regions, the plants may require shelter for the winter. Prune lightly in early spring, no harder than 4 inches. Lavender must have good drainage in order to avoid root rot problems. Consider growing in a raised bed or rock garden.
