Lilium orientale ‘Magic Star’

Double Oriental Lily

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.319.330

Double Oriental Lilies are quickly gaining popularity and it’s easy to see why! These flowers are amazing to grow and once you've tried them for yourself you'll be back for more! Oriental Lilies are later to bloom than other types, with star-shaped flowers that are superb for cutting. They prefer a rich, moist soil on the acidic side, with similar needs to Rhododendrons. This tall selection produces enormous, pollen-free, double flowers consisting of frilly pink petals with white edging featuring red stripes and freckles. The double flowering series of lilies have a lighter and perhaps more pleasant scent than regular oriental lilies. It is extremely popular for cutting, particularly for weddings. Stems should be staked before blooming to prevent wind damage. Especially nice in containers. Remove dead stems in the fall. Clumps may be divided after a few years by digging up the bulbs in mid autumn, separating them and replanting to a new location.
