Plant number: 1.446.700This is a unique kind of Primrose, totally unlike more commonly grown forms. Light-green leaves are thick and waxy, forming a low rosette. Slightly taller stems hold clusters of fragrant flowers through the spring months. This selection has single blooms of deep midnight purple with a mauve edge and contrasting cream centre. Choose a partly shaded site with rich, moist soil but excellent drainage. Auricula Primroses were extremely popular in Victorian gardens, when hundreds of named selections were in existence.
