Scabiosa columbaria Harlequin Blue™
Dwarf Pincushion Flower |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 1.480.160
(='Balharbu') An exceptionally long bloomer, this forms a low mound of ferny grey-green foliage with taller wiry stems that bear soft lavender-blue pincushion flowers. Blooming starts in early summer and continues well into the autumn. Terrific for mass planting, edging the border or in containers. Attractive to butterflies. Drought tolerant once established. Removing faded flowers every week or two will help encourage more buds to continue forming. A bit taller than ‘Butterfly Blue’ and said to be a better landscape performer. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
