Sedum telephium ‘Bon Bon’
Autumn Stonecrop |
USDA Zone: 3-9 |
Plant number: 1.485.760
A selection from the Netherlands, this produces a low mound of succulent chocolate purple leaves -- one of the darkest forms to date. Small clusters of dusty-rose flowers appear by midsummer, lasting into the autumn before changing into brown seed heads for winter. Blooming is much earlier than most other forms available. Promises to be a first-rate plant for edging sunny borders, in the rock garden or in containers. In very rich soil this selection is inclined to lose its wonderful purple colour, so hold back on the fertilizer if possible. Pinch or prune plants back by half in June if they get floppy. Trim back to the ground in early spring. USPP#18168: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
