Veronica ‘Sonja’
Tall Speedwell |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 1.540.460
One of the taller selections of Speedwell, making a great display in the summer garden, and exceptional for cutting. This forms a bushy, upright mound of bright green leaves, bearing long branching spikes of bright magenta-pink flowers in early to midsummer. If faded spikes are faithfully removed plants should continue to flower into late summer. May require staking to keep plants from flopping. Flowers are attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Easily divided in spring. Selected and introduced by Brent Horvath of Intrinsic Perennial Gardens in Illionois, and named for his sister Sonja.
