Antennaria dioica Red Wonder

Red Pussy-toes

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.043.150

(=‘Rotes Wunder’) This adorable little carpeting perennial is at home in the sunny rock garden, alpine trough garden or growing between flagstones. It forms a flat carpet of tiny silver-grey leaves, with taller stems of fuzzy cherry-red flowers in late spring. Cut or mow off flower stems after blooming if desired. A tough plant especially suited to hot sunny locations and poor, dry soil. Very drought tolerant. Easily divided in spring by simply ripping the clump apart into smaller pieces. Tolerates light foot traffic. Could be used as a lawn substitute in a small area. Evergreen.
