Artemisia abrotanum
Southernwood |
USDA Zone: 2-9 |
Plant number: 1.075.020
An ancient garden herb, Southernwood is also perfectly at home in the perennial border. Plants form an upright, bushy clump of very ferny, light green leaves with a wonderful fruity camphor fragrance. Especially nice planted where it can be brushed by or touched to release the scent. Shrub-like in effect, excellent for hot, dry sites. Flowers are insignificant. Good choice for a herb container, combined with other sun-loving plants like sage, rosemary, basil and lavender.
