Asarum maximum ‘Ling Ling’

Panda Face Wild Ginger

USDA Zone: 7-9

Plant number: 1.079.480

There are several wild gingers that are superb plants for the shady woodland garden or border. This Chinese species forms a clump of glossy, heart-shaped green leaves highlighted with two silver-green blotches on either side of the centre line. Flowers are velvety black with a wide white band around the centre found hidden among the leaves. Evergreen where hardy. Slugs can cause problems by feeding in spring. Growing this in a container is one way to help prevent slug damage. Plants must have a humus-rich soil and regular moisture through the summer months. Tolerant of hot, humid summer regions.
