Dierama pulcherrimum

Also called Angel’s Fishing Rod, these are little-known plants that perform exceptionally well in regions with mild winters. Often seen in British gardens, but growing just as well here in North America. Plants form a large clump of narrow, grasslike green leaves, with tall arching stems of dangling pink bells, appearing in mid summer. Excellent for cutting. Plants may be divided in early spring. Leaves are inclined to need cutting back in spring, to tidy up the clumps. Excellent as a specimen plant, surrounded by a low-growing groundcover, or between flagstones.
