Gillenia trifoliata ‘Pink Profusion’

Bowman’s Root

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.237.110

(= Porteranthus trifoliatus) A relatively unknown but easy Eastern North American native wildflower, especially useful in woodland situations. Low mounds of divided bronzy-green foliage give rise to tall branching burgundy stems of soft-pink star-like flowers that dance and move in the slightest breeze. Excellent in shade to part shade. Particularly effective in a massed planting. Flower stems may require a little support to prevent flopping. Similar to the Butterfly Gaura in flower effect, but tolerant of shade. Plants often develop good red fall colour. Also known by the common name Indian Physic.
