Lunaria annua
Money Plant |
USDA Zone: 2-9 |
Plant number: 1.329.050
Also known as Honesty, this is a favourite old-fashioned biennial. Showy sprays of pretty purple or white flowers in spring are followed by interesting papery silver dollar sized seedpods. The branches of translucent dried pods are excellent for dried arrangements, after the husks are removed in late summer. Plants usually self-seed and appear here and there in the garden, but happiest in a moist shady area. Flowers may attract butterflies.
