Primula ‘Red Giant’
Double English Primrose |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 1.445.930
Double Primroses have been cherished in English cottage gardens for centuries. These nearly became extinct but are now available again, thanks to the miracles of modern laboratory cloning. They are easy to grow, and put on a tremendous show in the spring garden, their double rose-like flowers attracting comments from all who see them. Choose a moist, shady spot free from vigorous tree roots. 'Red Giant' has very large flowers in a rich shade of velvety red. These should be divided every couple of years, in early fall.
