Scabiosa columbaria var. ochroleuca
Yellow Pincushion Flower |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 1.480.250
Pincushion flowers are delightful old-fashioned perennials, suited to any sunny border. This form is rather unique in having soft-primrose yellow flowers, held on branching stems for many weeks. Makes an excellent cut flower. Plants are useful in the garden, acting as a filler among other perennials, the soft colour blending well with nearly anything. Tolerant of hot, dry sites. This may act as a short-lived perennial but plants will usually self-seed year after year. Especially nice with silver-leaved companions. Attractive to butterflies.
