Solidaster luteus
Yellow Solidaster |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 1.494.500
An unusual hybrid between Aster and Goldenrod, this has been developed as a commercial cut flower all over the world. Plants form a bushy mound of green leaves, bearing airy sprays of tiny creamy-yellow daisies for weeks on end. Nice as a late season filler plant in the sunny border, especially good contrasting with anything in lavender or blue shades. Appreciates moist soil, which will help to prevent rust and powdery mildew. Clumps may be easily divided in early spring. Attractive to butterflies.
