Tradescantia ‘Sunshine Charm’

Spiderwort

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.520.690

A Spiderwort that does double-duty. This selection forms a mound of grassy-looking leaves of a bright golden-yellow to chartreuse shade. Lovely mauve-purple triangular flowers appear in early summer for several weeks, standing out well against the bright foliage. Plants should be trimmed back hard when blooming ends, to rejuvenate the foliage and encourage repeat bloom in late summer. To prevent burning, site in partial shade in hot summer regions where foliage will be chartreuse yellow. Happiest in a moist site. Reported to be quite vigorous for a gold foliage plant. Attractive to butterflies. Part of the Charm™ Series from Terra Nova Nurseries of Oregon. USPP#21480: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
