Physostegia virginiana ‘Autumn Carnival’

Obedient Plant

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.423.060

(=‘NICAUCA’) A selection of one of our native North American wildflowers. Plants form an upright, bushy clump of green leaves with spikes of soft lavender-pink flowers appearing in late summer and fall. Excellent for cutting. Unlike some other selections of Obedient Plant, this one is not inclined to spread quickly, but makes a well-behaved clump. Prefers rich, moist soil, and will tolerate wet conditions beside a stream or pond. Easily divided every 3 to 4 years in early spring. Attractive to butterflies. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
