Iris ‘Charming Billy’

Siberian Iris

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.289.480

The Siberian Irises are an easy, trouble-free group, forming clumps of grassy foliage with a late spring display of butterfly-like flowers. Plants are sturdy and upright and seldom troubled by Iris borer. This selection, part of the Peacock Butterfly Collection, features deep reddish-violet falls (outer petals) shading to yellow at the base and veined in darker violet, paler standards (inner petals) which flare outwards plus pale blue, petal-like style arms that stand up in the centre. Excellent at the waterside, or in a moist border. Also suitable for using in tubs and mixed containers. Siberian Irises are tolerant of wet sites, and will even grow in the shallow water at the edge of a pond or stream. Easily divided in early fall, every 3 to 4 years. Great for cutting. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
