Artemisia pontica

Roman Wormwood

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.075.200

An interesting low growing species of Artemisia, suitable as a quick spreading groundcover. Very feathery grey-green leaves add nice texture to the garden. Can be somewhat invasive, but may be contained with an edging strip or grown in a large tub or mixed container. Drought tolerant once established. Insignificant flowers. Herbal uses of this plant go back thousands of years, and extracts are still used today for flavoring certain alcoholic beverages and herbal medicines. Foliage has a pleasant camphor fragrance.
