Waldsteinia ternata

Barren Strawberry

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.555.050

Widely used in European gardens, this forms a dense mat of shiny leaves that somewhat resemble those of a strawberry. A good low-maintenance groundcover, studded by little yellow flowers in the spring. May be used to cover large or small areas, spreading steadily by stolons, but not considered invasive. Truly one of the next up-and-coming plants for shady areas. Easily divided in spring or early fall. Combines well with spring-blooming bulbs. Drought tolerant once established. Evergreen in mild winter regions.
