The flowers are held erect on long, upright stems over a compact mound of grey-green, grassy foliage. Flowers have a nice spicy fragrance. Attractive to butterflies. Great cut flower. Excellent for edging and in rock gardens. Deadhead regularly to encourage more buds to form. The flower petals of all types of Dianthus are edible.
