Helleborus ‘Rome in Red’

Lenten Rose

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.725.090

The Lenten Rose is an easy spring blooming perennial for the shady woodland garden. This selection is part of the HONEYMOON® Series from Walters Gardens, Inc. hybridizer Hans Hansen selected for vigour, showy floral displays with a large number of blossoms per plant and rich flower colours. Plants produce bushy clumps of thick, leathery evergreen leaves. Flower stalks appear in early spring, bearing showy cup-shaped blooms. H. ‘Rome in Red’ features single, rich maroon to wine-red flowers. Site these where they will stay for many years, since the plants resent being disturbed. Trim the old leaves to the ground in late winter to give the flowers maximum impact. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
