Alpine Aster is an early-blooming species, unlike our native Asters that bloom in late summer and early fall. They originate from the Alps and Pyrenees Mountain areas of Europe and are often grown in rock gardens or used for edging in the perennial border. Plants form a low clump of bright green leaves. This selection features double, blue flowers that appear in late spring and early summer. Not generally a long-lived plant, but will self-seed to produce successive generations, if allowed to. Easy. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
