(='Märchenland') Alpine Aster is an early-blooming species, often grown in rock gardens or used for edging in the perennial border. Plants form a low clump of bright green leaves, bearing branching stems with daisy-shaped flowers in late spring and early summer. Not a long-lived plant, but will self-seed to produce successive generations, if allowed to. This strain produces double and single blooms from white to pink, violet and blue.
