Astilbe chinensis var. taquetii ‘Superba’
Chinese Astilbe |
USDA Zone: 3-9 |
Plant number: 1.087.150
Astilbe are a popular choice for shady gardens, where they perform well if given a rich, moist soil and regular watering. This tall, late-blooming selection features showy, lavender-magenta plumes, over a mound of elegant, lacy green leaves. Also thrives in tubs, or mixed containers. Excellent for cutting. Seed heads may be removed, or left on the plant for winter interest. Fertilize in April and June. Plants should be divided every 2 to 3 years, in early spring. Will tolerate full sun, in cool summer regions.
