Campanula trachelium ‘Bernice’

Throatwort Bellflower

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.110.630

Bellflowers are among the most popular of perennials. This is a double-flowered selection of a European species, sometimes known as Throatwort. Plants form a low clump of green leaves, with upright stems of bright purple, double-petalled bells in late summer. Nice addition to the sun or part-shade border. Good for cutting. This is a clump-forming species, so will not spread beyond where it is welcome. Prefers a rich, moist soil, and in hot summer areas this will be happiest in semi-shade. Easily divided in spring or fall.
