Delphinium Princess Caroline

Delphinium

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.175.920

(=‘Odabar’) This selection has unusual salmon-pink single petals, subtly streaked with red. Midsized in habit, it forms a low mound of deeply-cut green leaves, with upright spikes of blooms appearing in early summer. Absolutely terrific as a cutflower. Remove faded flower stems at the base to encourage another round of shorter blooms in the autumn. In our experience, not very reliably perennial. Divide in the spring every two years to maintain vigour. Leaves are often attacked by mildew in mid summer; simply cut back hard to encourage fresh foliage. May require staking. A vegetatively propagated selection, so not likely to come true from saved seed. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
