Eryngium alpinum ‘Blue Star’

Sea Holly

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.205.060

Sea Holly features open umbels of steel-blue prickly flowers, which are a favourite for cutting, fresh or dried. This superb selection features large bristly flowers on strong stems, in a rich metallic blue shade. A versatile plant, fitting well into the sunny border. Tolerant of hot, dry sites once established. Flowers are attractive to butterflies. For dried use, cut stems just as the first few flowers in each umbel are almost fully opened: hang upside down in a dark, warm room to dry. Divide plants in spring every 3 to 4 years.
