Euphorbia ‘Royal Velvet’

Evergreen Spurge

USDA Zone: 7-9

Plant number: 1.208.360

Evergreen Spurge is a favourite of gardeners in mild-winter regions, usually used as a specimen plant or focal point in the winter and early spring border. This outstanding hybrid selection forms an upright, bushy mound of velvety bronze-red leaves with spring clusters of chartreuse bracts with a dark maroon eye. In colder regions this may be grown in a container and brought indoors to a cool, bright spot for the winter. A 2007 TerraNova Nursery introduction, bred by Ernie and Marietta O’Byrne in their Oregon garden. A cross between E. characias ‘Portuguese Velvet’ and E. × martinii ‘Red Martin'. CAUTION: skin and eye irritant/toxic if eaten.
