Heucherella ‘Stoplight’

Foamy Bells

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.268.220

A hybrid between Coral Bells and Foam Flower, combining the best traits of both into one plant. This selection forms a low mound of bright-yellow leaves with a star-shaped centre marking of beet red. Short spikes of white flowers appear in late spring. Leaves change to green with red markings during the summer. Plants seem to scorch with direct exposure to hot afternoon sun, so plant this where it receives afternoon shade or all-day dappled shade. Nice choice for the woodland garden, or for edging in a shady perennial border or rock garden. Evergreen in mild winter regions. Foliage should not be trimmed back in the fall, but plants may be tidied up in spring by removing any brown or tired-looking leaves. This selection is similar to ‘Sunspot’ but seems to have much better vigour. USPP#16835: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
