Hosta are among the most popular of perennials for shady areas, with hundreds of varieties now readily available. Plants form sturdy mounds of foliage, topped with lily-like blooms. This midsized specimen selection has thick, shiny ivory-white leaves with a wide dark-green edge and chartreuse streaks. Lavender flowers appear in mid summer. Good slug resistance. Protect from hot afternoon sun to prevent scorching. Clumps may be easily divided in the spring or fall. A sport of ‘Outrageous'. Once sold for US$4100 at a 1998 Hosta convention, the highest price ever paid for a new introduction.
