Iris pseudacorus

Yellow Flag Iris

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.289.400

This vigorous species is happiest at the waterside, but adapts well to average border conditions. Plants form a tall clump of bright green, sword-like leaves, bearing small bright-yellow flowers in early summer. Nice for cutting. Seed pods are good for dried arrangements. Although native to Europe, this has escaped from gardens and naturalized in wet areas all over North America. As a result, it has been classified a noxious weeds in some jurisdictions, for example the province of Alberta. Before planting this in your garden, please confirm whether it is a restricted plant in your area. Clumps are easily divided in the fall. Easy and pest-free. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
