Lychnis flos-jovis ‘Peggy’

Flower-of-Jove

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.335.160

Similar to the Rose Campion in effect, but more compact in habit and usually longer lived. This forms a low tufted mound of felted silvery-grey leaves, bearing upright stems in summer with loads of round, bright rosy-red flowers. Attractive to butterflies. Excellent for edging, also adapting well to mixed containers, or any difficult hot and sunny area. Also attractive in a rock garden setting. Seedlings that form may be easily moved in spring or early fall. Foliage often needs to be tidied in early spring. Drought tolerant, once established. Flowers are nice for cutting.
