Papaver alpinum hybrids

Alpine Poppy

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.401.200

These poppies are cute little alpine plants, best suited to the rock garden or for edging in hot, sunny borders. They form low rosettes of ferny olive-green leaves, bearing upright stems of satiny flowers. Blooms range from white to cream, yellow, soft pink and orange. A short-lived perennial, but will usually self-seed in a delightful sort of way. This also performs well in containers or alpine troughs. Removing faded flowers will greatly increase the blooming season. Drought tolerant. Often performs as an annual in regions with hot and humid summers.
