Phlox ‘Early Bird’

Hybrid Moss Phlox

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.410.920

This hybrid phlox was selected primarily for its early bloom season. Masses of deep carmine-pink flowers with a prominent dark raspberry-red centre appear mid-spring and last for weeks. Vigorous and uniform. The evergreen foliage turns a bronze-red colour over winter. Parentage is uncertain, but it appears to be a Phlox subulata hybrid. A light pruning is recommended immediately after flowering is complete. Developed by Dr. Jim Ault at the Chicago Botanic Garden for the Chicagoland Grows® plant introduction program. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
