Primula pulverulenta

Candelabra Primrose

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.445.470

This is a Candelabra type of Primrose, forming a low clump of fresh green leaves, with many upright stems bearing flowers arranged in tiers or layers. In this species, the flowers are a bright magenta-red shade, putting on an unforgettable display in the late spring garden. Prefers a soil that is rich and moist to wet. Great for cutting, and may also prove attractive to butterflies. In areas with hot summers, choose a site that is protected from afternoon sun. Clumps may be easily divided in early spring, when the first signs of growth appear. Will self seed, where happy.
