Veronica spicata incana Silver Sea

Woolly Speedwell

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.540.280

(='Silbersee') An outstanding silver-leaved perennial with a nice compact habit. This forms a low mound of narrow leaves of intense silvery-grey, bearing short spikes of deep violet blue flowers in early summer. Excellent for massing as a groundcover, edging a sunny border or in the rock garden. Does well in containers. Trim off faded flower spikes in August. Powdery mildew and other foliar diseases are sometimes a problem in regions with summer heat and humidity. Flowers are attractive to butterflies. Clumps may be easily divided in spring or early autumn.
