Echinacea ‘Purple Emperor’

Hybrid Coneflower

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.650.800

Butterfly™ Series. This Coneflower features large, fragrant, magenta-purple petals surrounding a prominent orange-brown cone. Petal edges turn a lighter pink as the flower matures. Long blooming. Plant habit is well-branched, strong and bushy. Ideal for sunny borders, massing and growing in mixed containers. Attractive to butterflies. Excellent for cutting. Coneflowers begin blooming in midsummer and continue for months if faded flowers are regularly removed. However leaving some spent blooms on the plants in the fall provides food for wintering birds. Bred by Arie Blom of AB Cultivars in the Netherlands. USPP#24459: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
