Carex muskingumensis

Palm Sedge

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 8.090.470

This grass-like plant is a native North American wildflower. Plants form a graceful, upright clump of divided leaves, with an almost tropical appearance, similar in effect to papyrus. Best in a moist location, but tolerates average or even dry soils well. Performs very well in pots set into a water feature. Nice foliage for flower arranging. Dead tops should be trimmed back in early spring. Clumps are easily divided in spring. Roots spread to form a sizeable patch in time, but not considered to be invasive.
