Helictotrichon sempervirens

Blue Oat Grass

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 8.200.100

Probably the best blue-leaved grass for average garden conditions. Plants form a well-behaved clump of bright silvery-blue leaves, with taller arching stems of flowers appearing in early summer. Non-spreading in habit, this will remain evergreen in mild winter regions. Requires good drainage, especially in warm summer regions. Clumps may be easily divided in spring. In cold regions the foliage sometimes needs to be tidied up with scissors in spring, but quickly regrows.
