Aconitum napellus ‘Carneum’

Pink Monkshood

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.015.070

A colour variation on the more familiar Blue Monkshood, this is not commonly seen in gardens. Plants form an upright clump of deeply-cut green leaves, bearing spikes of soft-pink flowers in mid-summer. May need staking in early summer. An outstanding cut flower. Plants prefer a site that will not dry out, away from thirsty tree roots. In hot summer areas this will need protection from afternoon sun, and flowers may fade to more of a white shade. Easily divided every 3 to 4 years, in early spring. CAUTION: toxic if eaten/harmful via skin.
