Gentiana ‘Marsha’

Tall Autumn Gentian

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.225.760

Much taller than the usual rock-garden forms of Gentian, this is a stunning border perennial for late summer and autumn bloom. It forms a bushy mound of dark-green leaves, with upright spikes that hold rich violet-blue hooded flowers, resembling Chelone or Turtlehead. Absolutely wonderful for cutting. Prefers an acidic soil with plenty of peat or compost but adapts readily to moist border conditions. Protect from afternoon sun in regions with hot, humid summers. Clumps may be increased by dividing in the spring. Trim back to the ground in late fall or early spring. USPP#16562: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
